Job summary

SciensBuilding Solutions seeks an experienced Senior Fire Alarm Systems Technician to program, commission, and troubleshoot fire alarm systems. You will coordinate with sales, field teams, and clients to ensure sound design and successful installations.

Strong emphasis on NFPA standards, AHJ coordination, and thorough reporting. Expect to review layouts, perform field surveys, and deliver projects on schedule and budget.

Qualifications

• Minimum of five years in a technician role within the fire-life safety industry.
• Advanced understanding of fire alarm circuit integrity and troubleshooting for faults.
• Independent ability to program the manufacturer’s advanced systems via laptop.
• Ability to read and understand smoke reports and code requirements.
• Read fire system design drawings for installation and programming purposes.
• Excellent organizational, decision-making and communication skills.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel occasionally.

Responsibilities

• Review system layouts and coordinate with engineering, project management, and sales.
• Produce field surveys and daily project logs.
• Program and commission complex fire alarm systems to customer and AHJ acceptance.
• Interact with AHJs for testing and issue resolution.
• Generate commissioning and inspection reports per NFPA.
• Troubleshoot complex issues and deliver projects on time and on budget.
• Program systems via laptop and oversee on-site projects for safety and quality.
• Review smoke reports and configure smoke control requirements.
• Provide guidance and training to other technicians.
• Manage scheduling and progress with a focus on cost efficiency and quality.
