Job summary

Johnson Controls, Inc. is seeking technicians to install, configure and service fire alarm and suppression systems at customer sites. You will read blueprints, coordinate with trades and ensure installation quality and safety on each project.

Responsibilities include training customers, conducting simulations, documenting work, and supporting on-call rotations while upholding OSHA guidelines. Local travel may be required as projects vary by site.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Three (3) years documented experience in low voltage electrical systems, including Fire/Life Safety, Access Control, Nurse Call and Paging.
• Experience reading and interpreting blueprints, submittals and manuals.
• Experience with hand tools, test equipment, multimeter usage, digital analyzer and commissioning devices.
• Able to obtain and retain licenses required by codes.
• Able to lift 50-70 lbs and perform physical labor.
• Able to work in ladders, scaffolding and high lift equipment.
• Able to work flexible hours including weekends.
• Demonstrate customer service and lead others when needed.
• Follow safety guidelines and work well with team.
• Possess a valid driver's license and good driving record.
• Able to pass pre-employment background and drug test.
• Overnight travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Install, program, configure, commission and service Fire Alarm and Fire Suppression Systems at customer sites.
• Execute projects on time and within installation hours.
• Coordinate with project manager to resolve discrepancies and coordination problems.
• Read/interpret blueprints, diagrams and manuals; coordinate with trades to optimize installation time.
• Instruct and train customers on operation of equipment; conduct simulations.
• Maintain excellent customer service and document project activities promptly.
• Adhere to OSHA and safety policies; participate in on-call rotation.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
