Job summary

Continental Fire Sprinkler Company, a subsidiary of Kiewit Corporation, seeks a Mid to Senior Designer specializing in Fire Alarm systems. You will lead design, create 3D models, and coordinate with project teams to deliver high-profile fire protection projects across varied environments.

The role emphasizes technical leadership, mentoring, and collaboration with PMs and field crews on installation and design optimization. Based in Omaha, full-time in-office with occasional site visits.

Qualifications

5+ years of fire alarm design experience on complex projects.
Industrial, commercial, or residential project experience acceptable.
Associate or bachelor’s degree preferred in Design/Engineering/Fire Protection.
Advanced design tools: BIM, REVIT, AutoCAD, AutoSPRINK; familiar with HydroCAD, SprinkCAD, SolidWorks.

Responsibilities

Design and lead fire alarm systems (Conventional/Addressable/Wireless) and related panels.
Develop and review detailed shop drawings and calculations for installation.
Prepare plan and material submittals for approvals with stakeholders.
Coordinate fire sprinkler alarm systems with building structure and other trades.
Prepare material stock lists to support procurement.
Serve as technical resource for field engineering troubleshooting.
Mentor designers and perform quality reviews to raise standards.
Collaborate with project managers to manage design costs and schedules.
