Job summary

Continental Fire Sprinkler Company, a subsidiary of Kiewit Corporation, is seeking a Mid to Senior Fire Sprinkler Designer to lead design on large-scale projects. You will develop shop drawings, hydraulic calculations, 3D models, and coordinate with MEP teams in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires 10+ years of experience, proficiency with AutoSPRINK/REVIT, and a degree in design or engineering. Travel is minimal; this is an in-office, Omaha-based opportunity with relocation assistance

Qualifications

• 10+ years of fire sprinkler design experience on complex projects.
• Associates or Bachelors in Design, Engineering, Fire Protection Engineering, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
• Advanced design experience using BIM/REVIT/AutoCAD/AutoSPRINK/HydroCAD/SprinkCAD/ SolidWorks. Our group primarily uses AutoSPRINK and REVIT.

Responsibilities

• Lead design of complex fire suppression systems (wet, dry, pre-action, foam) for large projects.
• Develop and review shop drawings and hydraulic calculations; provide field engineering support.
• Prepare plan submittals and material submittals for review and approval.
• Coordinate with building structure and other MEP subcontractors to resolve conflicts.
• Prepare and validate project material stock lists for procurement.
• Serve as technical resource for field troubleshooting and on-site support.
• Mentor designers and conduct quality-control reviews to raise standards.
• Collaborate with project managers to evaluate design approaches and control costs.
• Create as-built drawings for archives and client files.
