Job summary

UFG Insurance is seeking a Sr. Accountant to support preparation, analysis, and reporting of quarterly and annual statutory financial statements, regulatory filings, and capital calculations.

The role ensures accuracy and integrity of financial data per accounting principles and regulatory requirements, working with multiple finance teams. The candidate will prepare disclosures, support schedules, and capital calculations, while contributing to process improvements and internal controls.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
• CPA or progress toward certification preferred.
• 5 years of financial reporting or insurance accounting experience.
• Experience with statutory financial statements and regulatory filings.

Responsibilities

• Prepare quarterly and annual statutory financial statements and regulatory filings.
• Analyze statutory results and investigate variances.
• Support capital adequacy calculations (RBC/BCAR).
• Assist with SOX controls and audits.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve processes.
