Senior Financial Planning and Analysis Analyst

The Senior Financial Planning and Analysis Analyst supports the Director of Financial Planning and Analysis in managing the company’s real estate portfolio. Responsibilities include reviewing property performance, analyzing economic and market factors, preparing valuations, and streamlining reporting processes. The role involves financial modeling, analysis, and strategic planning to optimize portfolio performance.

Supervision and Status

• Reports to: Financial Planning and Analysis Manager
• FLSA Status: Exempt

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain financial valuation models for the portfolio.
• Assist in annual budget preparation, identify outliers, and resolve issues.
• Monitor cash flow and net operating income, identify problem areas, and recommend solutions.
• Perform debt service coverage ratio tests and analyze financial reports quarterly.
• Consolidate operational challenges and prepare reports for executive meetings.
• Review property waterfalls, distribution calculations, and participate in strategic planning.
• Support refinancing and disposition analyses as needed.
• Prepare reports for stakeholders including the board, investors, and lenders.

Minimum Qualifications

• BA or BS in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, Real Estate, or related field.

Preferred Skills and Experience

• At least 3 years of experience as a financial analyst in real estate.
• Experience with multifamily properties and financing structures.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, Word.

Travel and Core Competencies

• Some travel required across New England, Mid-Atlantic, and Northeast.
