Responsibilities

• Supervises staff to include prioritizing and assigning work; conducting performance evaluations; ensuring staff are trained; ensuring that employees follow policies and procedures; maintaining a healthy and safe working environment; making hiring, termination, and disciplinary recommendations.
• Manages the daily activities of an assigned operational unit, planning, coordinating, administering, and evaluating programs, projects, processes, procedures, systems, and standards; ensures compliance with Federal, State, and Local laws, regulations, codes, and/or standards; coordinates financial reporting requirements.
• Serves as a liaison with external agencies and other governmental entities.
• Provides advanced technical and administrative guidance to other divisions and departments.
• Participates in meetings, professional organizations, committees, and other related groups.
• Participates in budget development and maintenance efforts.
• Performs other duties of a similar nature or level
• Prepares the County's core financial statements, schedules, and note disclosures for the ACFR and the external audit
• Produces the annual Budget Document and Budget in Brief
• Responsible for month-end financial reporting including variance analysis and budget to actual explanations
• Completes schedules for annual reporting requirements to internal and external agencies and ensures reports are delivered on time
