Job summary

Allianz Commercial is seeking an Underwriting Specialist for our San Francisco or Los Angeles office. You will own a portfolio of large, complex Financial Lines accounts, coaching fellow underwriters, and shaping regional underwriting strategy.

With a focus on brokers, clients, and risk managers, you will drive profitable growth while maintaining contract certainty and governance alignment. Hybrid work model and comprehensive compensation apply.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5–7 years of underwriting experience in Financial Lines.
• Solid understanding of line of business products, the competitive landscape, and global markets.
• Bachelor's degree preferred; professional qualification (CII) is a plus; fluent English.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite new and renewal accounts to meet revenue and profitability targets.
• Negotiate pricing, terms, and conditions with producers.
• Manage capacity within governance framework and authorities.
• Evaluate risk accumulation and conduct catastrophe modeling where applicable.
• Support international programs and coordinate with global colleagues as needed.
• Ensure contract certainty and timely policy documentation.
• Collaborate across functions to deliver a seamless client and broker experience.
