Placements24 seeks a seasoned Financial Controller to lead the accounting department in South Africa. This senior role requires strong leadership, IFRS expertise, and strategic financial management to ensure regulatory compliance and financial integrity.

You will oversee accounting operations, mentor the team, and coordinate with auditors and tax advisors to drive performance and operational excellence within a respected organization.

Qualifications

• Professional Accounting Qualification required (e.g., CA(SA), ACCA, CIMA).
• Minimum of 7 years of accounting and finance experience, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or controller role.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS, South African Companies Act, and tax legislation.
• Experience with financial reporting systems and ERP software.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all accounting operations, including accounts payable/receivable, general ledger, and payroll.
• Ensure timely and accurate preparation of financial statements and regulatory filings.
• Develop, implement, and maintain internal controls and accounting policies.
• Manage and mentor the accounting team, fostering professional growth and high performance.
• Liaise with external auditors, tax advisors, and banking institutions.
• Drive process improvements and efficiency initiatives within the finance function.
