Placements24 is seeking a highly qualified Financial Controller to lead accounting operations in East London. This senior role oversees financial reporting, accounting operations, and internal controls to ensure accuracy and regulatory compliance in the banking and finance sector.

You will manage the finance team, drive process improvements, and provide critical financial information to support strategic decision-making.

Qualifications

• Proficient with GAAP/IFRS and internal controls.
• Strong leadership and people-management experience.
• Experience preparing financial statements under IFRS/GAAP.
• Advanced Excel skills and proficiency with ERP systems.
• Experience collaborating with external auditors in a banking/finance context.

Responsibilities

• Direct day-to-day accounting operations.
• Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Develop and maintain internal controls for accurate reporting.
• Lead annual audit and coordinate with external auditors.
• Manage cash flow, treasury, and banking relationships.
• Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory requirements.
• Provide financial insights to support strategic decisions.
• Supervise, train, and develop the accounting team.
