Job summary

Latham & Watkins LLP is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst – Quant to join the Global Finance team in New York or the Downtown Los Angeles office.

The role focuses on financial modeling for transactional deals across Corporate practice groups, including Emerging Companies & Growth, Capital Markets, M&A, and Private Equity, building proforma capitalizations, liquidation waterfalls, merger analyses, and ownership models for deal teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in economics, finance, accounting, business administration, management, or related field.
• CFA qualification preferred.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in financial analysis, corporate finance, or M&A; 5+ years total experience.

Responsibilities

• Producing and refining client-ready financial models and effectively communicating analysis to partners, associates, and external clients on the transaction.
• Advising the internal deal team and clients based on these analyses, addressing questions regarding data, methodologies, and assumptions.
• Participating in learning education classes for the firm’s lawyers related to quantitative analysis and financial modelling work.
• Maintaining, updating, and curating training materials, such as reference guides and training presentations, and mentoring other analysts.
• Promoting effective work practices, working as a team member, and showing respect for co-workers.
• Protecting and maintaining any highly sensitive, confidential, privileged, financial, and/or proprietary information.
