Job summary

Latham & Watkins is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst – Quant to join the Global Finance team, responsible for developing financial models for transactional deals across major practice groups, including Emerging Companies & Growth, Capital Markets, M&A, and Private Equity. Work with deal teams to deliver client-ready analyses.

This role can be based in New York or Downtown Los Angeles with a hybrid/in-office schedule, requiring a bachelor’s degree and several years of relevant experience, CFA

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in economics, finance, accounting, business administration, management, or related field.
• A financial/investment industry qualification (CFA), preferably
• A minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience in financial analysis, corporate finance, consulting, or M&A, preferably in a professional services organization
• A minimum of five (5) years of cumulative experience
• Experience working on transactional engagements in a time-sensitive and fast-paced environment, preferably

Responsibilities

• Producing and refining client-ready financial models and effectively communicating analysis and work product to the partners, associates, and external clients on the transaction
• Advising the internal deal team and clients based on these analyses, addressing questions regarding the underlying data, analytical methodologies, and assumptions used to build the work product
• Participating in learning education classes for the firm’s lawyers related to quantitative analysis and financial modelling work
• Maintaining, updating, and curating training materials, such as reference guides, training presentations, library of training exercises, and tip sheets; training and mentoring other analysts
• Promoting effective work practices, working as a team member, and showing respect for co-workers
• Protecting and maintaining any highly sensitive, confidential, privileged, financial, and/or proprietary information that Latham & Watkins retains
