Job summary

Pacific Life is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst II to join the Financial Planning and Analysis team in Newport Beach, CA. You will analyze Life Insurance and Annuity earnings vs.

Plan, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and drive insights across the organization. The role requires extensive financial reporting experience, strong Excel skills, and the ability to lead and mentor staff in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 8+ years financial reporting and analysis experience, preferably in Life Insurance and Annuity
• Demonstrates leadership, organizational, interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Strong time management and multi-tasking abilities; effective communicator

Responsibilities

• Facilitate quarterly close for GAAP and STAT Internal Management reporting for Life, including variances to Plan by business driver
• Collaborate with Actuarial, Sales, Experience Studies, and Expense Management teams to understand business drivers for forecasting
• Analyze CMD historical trends by product line to validate Plan assumptions and identify anomalies in current period results
• Participate in the annual financial Plan cycle and compare Actuarial model outputs to historical results
• Drive continuous process improvement for CMD Finance through evaluating procedures and implementing value-added changes
• Provide guidance to staff regarding procedures, systems, and analyses to develop CMD Finance talent
