How you’ll help move us forward
  • Facilitate the quarterly close process for GAAP and STAT Internal Management reporting requirements for Life, including:
  • Provide timely, relevant, and accurate findings/research to Consumer Markets Division (“CMD”) Finance, mainly around variances to Plan by business driver
  • Analyze CMD historical trends by product line to validate Plan assumptions and identify anomalies in current period results
  • Compile periodic CMD data for rating agency surveys and internal management dashboards
  • Facilitate continuous process improvement for CMD Finance by evaluating current procedures and recommending value-added improvements
  • Use best practices and knowledge of internal or external business issues to improve services and solve long-term problems
  • Work with experts (both within Pacific Life and externally) to consider options and identify solutions that best align with business strategies.
  • Develop solutions to complex problems with minimal supervision, requiring the regular use of ingenuity and creativity
The experience you bring
  • 5+ years financial reporting and analysis experience, preferably in the Life Insurance and Annuity industry

  • Adaptable to using/understanding various system functionalities including Microsoft Office products.
  • Excel proficiency is a non-negotiable requirement, though VBA programming is not required
  • Strong team building, partnership and collaboration skills
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize/communicate conflicting demands in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work independently on assignments of various levels of complexity
What makes you stand out
  • CPA, CMA, or MBA preferred
  • Proficiency in Oracle, Essbase, Alteryx, Tableau, and Workiva is a plus
