Job summary

AbbVie seeks a Lead Financial Analyst to drive financial planning for Project One and other global platforms. You will own budgets, forecasts, capitalization and governance, partnering with project teams and Purchasing to optimize funding and cost control.

You will deliver executive reports, manage month- and year-end closes, and identify risks with actionable mitigation. 8+ years in FP&A or project accounting and strong Excel skills are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
• 8+ years of experience in financial analysis, project accounting, FP&A, program financial management, or related finance functions.
• Ability to work independently with multiple priorities and stakeholders.
• Experience supporting large-scale technology, digital, ERP, CRM, or business transformation programs.
• Strong budgeting, forecasting, accruals, capitalization, financial controls, variance analysis, and executive reporting.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills for financial modeling and data analysis.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management across levels.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and maintenance of program budgets, forecasts, and long-range financial plans.
• Independently manage monthly forecasting, actuals reporting, variance analysis, and financial reconciliations.
• Drive month-end, quarter-end, year-end, and annual planning activities.
• Manage capitalization processes, capitalization requests, project closeouts, and asset tracking.
• Serve as the primary financial contact for Project One and other strategic programs.
• Review, validate, and process vendor invoices against SOWs, POs, and budgets.
• Partner with Purchasing to support SOW reviews, PO creation, amendments, approvals, and routing.
• Collaborate with Project Accounting on project setup, funding management, capitalization, and compliance.
• Monitor vendor spend, contract commitments, forecasts, and funding utilization.
• Prepare executive-level financial reports, funding updates, variance analyses, and governance materials.
• Identify financial risks and forecast issues and drive resolution.
• Support audits, financial reviews, and governance activities with proper documentation.
• Recommend and implement process improvements to increase transparency and efficiency.
