Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. in Washington, DC is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to lead planning, evaluation and assessment of corporate initiatives, and to provide financial support to Senior Financial Management, Group Logistics Managers, and Logistics Managers.

The role covers forecasting, month-end closing, invoicing oversight, and Sarbanes-Oxley compliance. A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in business, finance or accounting with at least four years of finance experience is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in business administration, finance, accounting or related field
• Strong understanding of income statements and balance sheets
• Intermediate MS Excel skills: analyzing large data sets, vlookups/hlookups, pivot tables, filtering, waterfall charts

Responsibilities

• Forecasting, business planning and branch performance analysis.
• Identify opportunities for cost/productivity improvements in collaboration with GLM/LM.
• Month-end closing activities including journal entries and variance explanations.
• Manage customer invoicing and revenue posting to the general ledger; monitor aging reports.
• Provide financial training to operations staff on policies, procedures and tools.
• Ensure Sarbanes-Oxley compliance and coordinate with Shared Services Center and Corporate Accounting.
