Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field.
  • 3–5 years of accounting/financial analysis experience.
  • Experience managing DMH government contracts and funding.
  • Nonprofit experience preferred.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Knowledge of GAAP nonprofit/government accounting standards and CFR 200 requirements.
  • Experience working with city, county, and federal funding sources.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to spot trends, variances, and opportunities.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare monthly and quarterly financial reports, variance analyses, and reimbursement requests
  • Manage contract and grant budgets, including direct and indirect expenses
  • Track budget vs. actuals and identify opportunities to improve financial performance
  • Partner with program managers to review revenue, expenditures, billing, and budget needs
  • Support contract renewals, modifications, and financial proposals for new funding opportunities
  • Monitor cash collections and ensure payments and expenditures are properly allocated
  • Reconcile cash activity, A/P, A/R, general ledger, bank statements, and credit card accounts
  • Support month-end close and accurately record financial transactions
  • Assist with year-end audits, contract monitoring, and independent agency reviews
  • Provide ad hoc financial analysis and reporting for the CFO and leadership team

What We’re Looking For


  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field

  • 3–5 years of accounting/financial analysis experience

  • Experience managing Department of Mental Health (DMH) government contracts and funding

  • Nonprofit experience strongly preferred

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills

  • Knowledge of GAAP nonprofit/government accounting standards and CFR 200 requirements

  • Experience working with city, county, and federal funding sources

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to spot trends, variances, and opportunities

  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines
