Job Title: Sr. Accountant, Immediate Contract Consultant

Location: Downtown LA

Salary: $30 - $40 per hour

As a Consulting Accounting Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing a team of accountants, ensuring accurate financial reporting, managing end-of-month closing processes, and assisting with annual budget planning and grant accounting. Responsibilities
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the accounting department, including managing a team of accountants and ensuring all financial tasks are completed accurately and on time.
  • Coordinate and execute end-of-month closing processes, ensuring all financial reports are accurate and completed within deadlines.
  • Conduct thorough GL reconciliations and resolve any discrepancies promptly.
  • Assist with the planning and execution of the annual budget, including forecasting and analyzing financial trends.
  • Manage all aspects of grant accounting, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Provide strategic financial advice to senior management, using your expertise to inform decision-making processes.
  • Continually review and improve accounting processes and systems to increase efficiency and accuracy.
  • Train and mentor junior staff members, fostering a positive and supportive work environment.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required; a Master’s degree or CPA certification is preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a managerial role in the Accounting + Finance industry.
  • Proven experience with financial reporting, GL reconciliations, end-of-month closing processes, annual budget planning, and grant accounting.
  • Exceptional leadership skills, with a proven ability to manage and motivate a team.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficient in using accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Ability to work in a high-pressure environment and meet tight deadlines.
  • High level of integrity, with a commitment to upholding company values and ethical standards.
