This Senior Financial Aid Specialist supports the Financial Aid function at Herzing University with policy, procedure, technology, and process optimization needs. This role requires high attention to detail and technical proficiency. The Senior Specialist also needs to generate innovative ideas. The role reports to the Director of Financial Aid - Compliance and serves on the Financial Aid Compliance Team within the Home Office division.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred; High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • 3+ Years of Title IV administration experience preferred; minimum 1 year required.
  • Experience with automated systems and processes preferred.
  • Experience with policy, procedure, and data system development using automation preferred.
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and institutional regulations related to financial aid is preferred.

Pay: Compensation depends on qualifications, experience, and circumstances. The hourly pay range is $27.79 to $37.60. Benefits include tuition waiver and reimbursement, health insurance, paid time off, and retirement plan with company match. Learn more about careers at Herzing University.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform internal audits of funding programs and collaborate on staff training.
  • Analyze processes and recommend improvements leveraging technology and reporting.
  • Support UAT for system upgrades by designing test plans and executing testing.
  • Partner with campus leadership on budget utilization and staffing to support Financial Aid needs.
  • Maintain the FWS Tracker and resolve issues promptly.
  • Configure Financial Aid software for award year setup and system functionality.
  • Support campus Financial Aid staff with troubleshooting and policy review.
  • Focus on continuous improvement in efficiency, accuracy, student satisfaction, and innovation.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Remain stationary most of the time; occasionally move around.
  • Operate office equipment including computers and AV equipment.
