Job summary

The Clark Agency Recruiters is partnering with a growing Metro Detroit real estate investment and property management firm to find a Senior Financial Accountant who can take full ownership of the financial function. This role focuses on accurate reporting, cash-flow forecasting, budgeting, controls, and strategic decision-making across ~70 properties.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of accounting experience.
• Strong QuickBooks and Excel skills.
• Real estate or construction accounting experience is a big plus.
• CPA certification is a plus, but not required.
• Extremely organized and comfortable taking ownership.

The Clark Agency is partnering with a growing Metro Detroit real estate investment and property management firm to find a Senior Financial Accountant who can take real ownership of the financial function.

This is not a bookkeeping role. You’ll work closely with ownership as they continue to scale, improving financial reporting, cash-flow forecasting, budgeting, controls, and decision-making across a high-volume portfolio of acquisitions, renovations, and rentals (approximately 70 properties acquired annually).

What you'll own:

• Multi-entity and property-level accounting
• Approximately 1,000 transactions per month
• Monthly financial statements and management reporting
• Cash-flow forecasting and capital needs planning
• Renovation budget tracking and cost-overrun analysis
• Property, maintenance, contractor, and vendor cost analysis
• Accounting process, control, and system improvements
• Coordination with accounting support and the outside CPA
• Translating financial data into clear insights and recommendations for ownership

What they're looking for:
