Job summary

Alvarez & Marsal, as part of its Private Equity Performance Improvement practice, seeks an Associate/Senior Associate to lead Digital Finance Transformation initiatives. You will help PE portfolio companies accelerate digital enablement within finance, modernize data environments, automate processes, and build analytics-driven tools to drive measurable business impact.

The role blends strong Python/SQL skills with finance and accounting acumen, working directly with CFOs, Controllers, and FP&A

Qualifications

• 4–8+ years of professional experience; consulting or professional services experience preferred.
• Advanced Python programming experience, including familiarity with machine learning libraries such as scikit‑learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch.
• Strong SQL skills and experience with modern data platforms (Snowflake, Databricks, Azure Synapse, Microsoft Fabric).
• Experience with ETL/orchestration tools (Dagster, Temporal, Azure Data Factory, AWS Glue, Fivetran, Matillion).
• Demonstrated ability to develop lightweight finance applications using Streamlit or Retool.
• Solid understanding of finance and accounting concepts, including forecasting, working capital management, and three‑statement modeling.
• Exceptional communication and collaboration skills; proven ability to translate between finance and technology teams.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and operationalize digital finance solutions for private equity portfolio companies.
• Collaborate with CFOs, Controllers, and FP&A leaders to drive analytics and transparency.
• Modernize data environments and automate finance processes to improve performance and scalability.
