Job summary

Humanity AI in New York operates as a hybrid-into-NYC program led by Rockefeller Philanthropy Advisors. The senior finance leader will own financial strategy, operations, and reporting for the collaborative, serving as the primary liaison to the fiscal sponsor.

This role builds the finance function from the ground up while supporting long-term organizational design. You will also own the data layer and portfolio map, designing and maintaining systems for grant commitments, financial tracking,

Qualifications

• 10+ years of nonprofit/foundation finance experience.
• Working knowledge of GAAP, restricted funds, and multi-year budgeting/forecasting.
• Experience building finance and operations systems in early-stage orgs.
• Fluency with trackers, dashboards, and portfolio data.
• Experience designing operational systems and managing vendors/contracts.
• Ability to translate financial data into strategic advice for leadership.
• Able to present complex financial concepts to non-finance audiences.

Responsibilities

• Lead finance strategy and operations, partnering with RPA.
• Oversee budgeting, multi-year forecasting, cash flow modeling and reporting.
• Manage pooled fund tracking and grant coding across allocations.
• Coordinate audits, payroll, payables, and HR policy alignment with RPA.
• Own portfolio data and reporting cadence to funder partners and ED.
