Metro Nashville Government's Information Technology Services (ITS) department seeks a Finance Officer Senior to ensure precision and compliance in financial transactions that support department goals. You will craft clear dashboards and reports to turn data into actionable insight for leadership.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree and several years of finance or budgeting experience, with expertise in Oracle Cloud, Tableau/PowerBI, and strong stakeholder communication.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and 4+ years of progressively responsible experience in information systems, business analysis, financial/operational systems, or governmental budgeting.
• Experience with Oracle Cloud applications—General Accounting, Payables, Receivables, Budgetary Control, and BI tooling.
• Dashboarding/BI tools such as Tableau or PowerBI for financial reporting.
• Certified County Financial Officer or Certified Municipal Financial Officer accreditation is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Participates in processing, review, and reconciliation of financial and accounting documents for accuracy and compliance.
• Monitors departmental expenditures, revenue collections, and grant expenditures to support budget adherence.
• Develops and maintains clear, actionable financial dashboards and reports for leadership.
• Supports end-to-end management of financial transactions including processing, reviewing, reconciling, and maintaining records.
• Assists with data collection, reconciliation, and billing activities; ensures timely communication with customers.
• Enters general ledger, payment, and billing transactions in accordance with protocols and timelines.
• Investigates discrepancies and recommends resolutions; adjusts records as needed with proper approvals.
• Assists in development, preparation, and tracking of annual operating and capital budgets.
