Job summary

NAKASEC is seeking a Full-time Senior Finance Associate in Chicago, IL. The role reports to the Finance & Compliance Director and offers a hybrid work arrangement based in the Albany Park office. Salary ranges from $60,000 to $65,000 per year, depending on experience.

Responsibilities include accounting for entities and projects, payroll processing, vendor management, W‑9/1099 tasks, and monthly reconciliations, with a strong emphasis on accuracy and compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field; MBA/CPA preferred.
• Proficiency with QuickBooks and Excel for financial analysis and reporting.
• Ability to come to Albany Park office 2–3 times per week.
• Data-entry skills with strong attention to detail.
• Demonstrated commitment to social, racial, and economic justice.

Responsibilities

• Track and reconcile online donations for each legal entity and fiscally sponsored project.
• Enter data for Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable and ensure accuracy.
• Review invoices on Bill.com for correct coding and approval process.
• Maintain grants management tracker for each entity and project.
• Process bi-weekly payroll.
• Assist onboarding of contractors and manage vendor profiles on Bill.com.
• Collect and track annual W‑9s and assist with Form 1099 preparation.
• Manage users on Expensify and review credit-card reports and reimbursements.
• Assist with documentation for cost-sharing invoices between entities.
• Make bank deposits and prepare monthly bank and credit-card reconciliations.
• Create MOUs for regrants and maintain tracker.
• Attend meetings and assist Directors with admin projects.
• Other duties as assigned.
