Nationwide in the United States is seeking a Sr Field Underwriter for Commercial Lines to generate profitable business from agencies in the Tennessee territory. This WFH role involves 50–60% travel and underwriting authority across small commercial accounts.

Ideal candidates have 4–6 years of commercial underwriting, strong sales and communication skills, and agency-management experience. Undergraduate degree preferred; CPCU coursework is a plus.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years of multi-line commercial underwriting experience with authority.
• Production & Agency Management orientation.
• Knowledge of agency operations and field agency support needs.
• Relevance of CPCU or related coursework is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Accept, reject, or modify new commercial lines business within delegated authority to ensure profitability.
• Underwrite, review apps, select business to quote, and price according to guidelines.
• Gather competitive data, prepare reports, and perform loss control inspections.
• Conduct routine field inspections and communicate findings to agents.
