Nationwide is seeking an experienced commercial lines underwriter with authority to evaluate and price complex risks across a broad field territory. This remote role requires frequent travel to agency partners and active engagement in strategic planning with agencies to drive profitability and growth.

The ideal candidate will have 6–8 years of underwriting experience, CPCU/CIC/AU or related designations, and a proven ability to influence underwriting outcomes. A Bachelor’s degree is required.

Responsabilités

• Independently underwrites and prices complex commercial risks within expanded authority.
• Performs in-depth risk analysis using financials, loss control reports, and market trends.
• Manages a field underwriting territory focused on new business production and profitability.
• Engages with agency partners to support negotiations, development, and coverage discussions.
• Monitors market developments and contributes to underwriting guidelines and tools.
• Mentors field underwriters and shares best practices across the team.
• Partners with Territory Managers to conduct product orientation and training.
