Job summary

ECS Limited is seeking a skilled Construction Materials Testing Senior Field Technician I to join our West Chester team. You will perform field testing of soils, aggregates, concrete, and related materials, while mentoring Technician I/II staff and coordinating with project management.

Ideal candidates have 2 years of related experience and strong communication, math, and data-reduction skills. This on-site role requires lifting up to 85 lbs and a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• 2 years of related experience.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Maintain basic certifications and two advanced certifications applicable to the work performed as per ECS Technician Certification Policy.
• If driving for or on behalf of any ECS subsidiary, a valid driver's license is required.
• Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
• Dependable, self-motivated, and detail-oriented.
• Advanced knowledge of construction materials testing principles and standards.
• Strong understanding of construction practices and jobsite operations.
• Advanced proficiency with electronic devices and data systems.
• Strong math and data reduction skills.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering plans and specifications.
• Ability to work independently and lead small efforts in the field.
• Ability to lift equipment and materials regularly (up to ~85 lbs).
• Must have the ability to safely operate a motor vehicle and follow all local and state laws, road/driving regulations, and company policies.

Responsibilities

• Performs field observation, testing, sampling, and inspection of soils, aggregates, concrete, masonry, asphalt, structural steel, and related materials.
• Executes testing activities on projects of moderate complexity with minimal supervision
• Communicates daily with contractors, technicians, and project managers
• Reports changing site conditions and additional testing needs to supervisors
• Prepares accurate and detailed daily field reports documenting site conditions and results
• Performs calculations, data reduction, and documentation tasks
• Maintains and organizes field equipment and testing materials
• Assists in resolving field-related issues and supports project execution
• Trains and mentors Technician I and Technician II staff in field procedures and documentation
• Participates in project meetings with senior staff as requested
• Performs other field and project support duties as assigned
