Job summary

ECS Group of Companies in Fort Wayne is seeking a Construction Materials Testing Senior Field Technician I to perform field observations, testing, sampling, and reporting on a variety of geotechnical projects. You will work with project managers and technicians to ensure accurate field data and safety compliance.

The role involves training Technician I/II, leading small field efforts, and contributing to project meetings.

Qualifications

• 2 years of related experience.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Maintain basic certifications and two advanced certifications applicable to the work performed as per the ECS Technician Certification Policy.
• General industry OSHA 10 may be required
• If driving for or on behalf of any ECS subsidiary, a valid driver's license is required

Responsibilities

• Performs field observation, testing, sampling, and inspection of soils, aggregates, concrete, masonry, asphalt, structural steel, and related materials
• Executes testing activities on projects of moderate complexity with minimal supervision
• Communicates daily with contractors, technicians, and project managers
• Reports changing site conditions and additional testing needs to supervisors
• Prepares accurate and detailed daily field reports documenting site conditions and results
• Performs calculations, data reduction, and documentation tasks
• Maintains and organizes field equipment and testing materials
• Assists in resolving field-related issues and supports project execution
• Trains and mentors Technician I and Technician II staff in field procedures and documentation
• Participates in project meetings with senior staff as requested
• Performs other field and project support duties as assigned
