Job summary

ECS Group of Companies seeks a Construction Materials Testing Field Technician for our Fort Wayne team. This role is primarily field-based, performing observations and initial testing under supervision, with data collection and site condition documentation to support project execution.

As you gain experience, ECS will support professional skill development and provide certification opportunities. Training and fieldwork are central to growing within the CMT discipline.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Obtain basic certifications applicable to the work performed.
• Valid driver’s license if driving for ECS subsidiary.
• Good communication skills (verbal, written, and reading comprehension).
• Dependable, self-motivated, and detail-oriented work ethic.
• Very limited to no knowledge of CMT principles and testing standards.
• Basic math skills and data entry ability.

Responsibilities

• Performs field observation, testing, and sampling of soil, aggregates, and concrete under supervision.
• Assists with construction materials testing activities on project sites.
• Communicates daily with contractors, technicians, and project managers.
• Reports changing site conditions and additional testing needs to supervisors.
• Assists with preparation and submission of daily field reports.
• Supports basic calculations and data entry related to testing results.
• Assists in organizing and maintaining field equipment.
• Notifies supervisors of damaged or missing equipment.
• Participates in project meetings with senior staff as requested.
• Performs other field and project support duties as assigned.
