Job summary

ECS Limited is seeking a certified Construction Materials Testing (CMT) Senior Field Technician I to join our Fayetteville team. You will perform field observations, testing, sampling, and inspection of various materials, and communicate daily with project teams.

You will prepare detailed reports, support project execution, and mentor Technician staff in the field. As you gain experience, ECS offers development opportunities and opportunities to advance certifications through programs with

Qualifications

2 years of related experience.
High school diploma or GED.
Maintain basic certifications and two advanced certifications as per ECS policy.
General OSHA 10 may be required.
If driving for ECS, a valid driver’s license is required.
Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
Dependable, self-motivated, and detail-oriented.
Advanced knowledge of construction materials testing principles and standards.
Strong understanding of construction practices and jobsite operations.
Advanced proficiency with electronic devices and data systems.
Strong math and data reduction skills.
Ability to read and interpret engineering plans and specifications.
Ability to work independently and lead small field efforts.
Ability to lift equipment and materials regularly (up to ~85 lbs).
Must be able to safely operate a motor vehicle.

Responsibilities

Performs field observation, testing, sampling, and inspection of soils, aggregates, concrete, masonry, asphalt, structural steel, and related materials.
Executes testing activities on projects of moderate complexity with minimal supervision.
Communicates daily with contractors, technicians, and project managers.
Reports changing site conditions and additional testing needs to supervisors.
Prepares accurate and detailed daily field reports documenting site conditions and results.
Performs calculations, data reduction, and documentation tasks.
Maintains and organizes field equipment and testing materials.
Assists in resolving field-related issues and supports project execution.
Trains and mentors Technician I and Technician II staff in field procedures and documentation.
Participates in project meetings with senior staff as requested.
Performs other field and project support duties as assigned.
