Job summary

GHD is seeking a Sr. Field Technician for the US Central Environmental field team, based in Guadalupe or Bakersfield, CA. You will support remediation and O&M projects across the region, performing maintenance, data collection, site inspections, and field sampling.

The ideal candidate has a HS diploma, 5+ years of environmental field experience, and is willing to work overtime and travel as needed. OSHA HazWoper certification is a plus; valid driver’s license required; pre-employment screenings

Qualifications

HS diploma or GED required; college degree is a plus in environmental-related field
5+ years environmental field experience
Good electrical and mechanical maintenance and troubleshooting skills
Willingness to perform field work and overtime
Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER certification is a plus

Responsibilities

Operate and maintain soil and groundwater remediation systems and O&M tasks
Mechanical and electrical troubleshooting and preventive maintenance
Conduct field sampling of soil, groundwater, surface water, sediment, vapor
Collect detailed field notes and communicate findings effectively
Coordinate with contractors, service providers, project team, stakeholders and client
Support and oversee other field activities as needed
