G&E Partners in Virginia (Mid-Atlantic) seeks a Senior Superintendent to lead site development, earthwork, utilities, and roadway projects from inception to completion. You will manage self-perform crews, read civil drawings, and drive safety and quality on large-scale infrastructure sites.

This leadership role emphasizes mentoring field managers, building look-ahead schedules, coordinating with owners and engineers, and delivering projects on time and within budget in a growth-driven company.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience as a Superintendent (or Senior Superintendent) in heavy civil construction.
• Hands-on experience with site development, mass earthwork, grading, and underground utilities on large-scale projects.
• Proven ability to read and interpret civil construction drawings, plans, and specifications.
• Track record of developing and managing three-week look-ahead schedules.
• Experience supervising self-perform crews, with broad self-perform scopes preferred.
• Strong leadership, communication, and mentoring skills with safety focus.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of high-profile site development, excavation, mass earthwork, utility, and roadway projects from inception through completion, collaborating with senior leadership.
• Lead and mentor crews of self-perform tradespeople and field managers across mass grading, excavation, trenching, backfill, compaction, and underground utility installation.
• Build and maintain rolling three-week look-ahead schedules aligned to the project plan.
• Read and interpret civil drawings, specifications, and estimates to plan crew productivity, staffing, and equipment needs by phase.
• Own day-to-day quality control for company and subcontractor work, correcting non-conforming work quickly.
• Run safety meetings and training, model safe behavior on-site, and ensure timely reporting of accidents, incidents, and near misses.
• Track daily labor hours and production against budget, review cost reports, and take corrective action on overruns.
• Identify and build succession bench strength, mentoring field managers and crew members as the department grows.
• Maintain strong relationships with owners, owners' reps, architects, and engineers throughout the project.
