Job summary

G&E Partners in Virginia is seeking a Field Leader with 5+ years of experience in heavy civil construction to join our project teams.

You will lead self-perform crews on complex site development, earthwork, grading and utilities up to $50M+, manage three-week look-ahead schedules, mentor crews, and ensure safety, quality, and client satisfaction on every phase. This role requires strong leadership and the ability to read civil drawings and coordinate resources.

Qualifications

• 5+ years as a Superintendent in heavy civil construction.
• Experience in site development, earthwork, grading, underground utilities.
• Ability to read and interpret civil construction drawings, plans and specifications.
• Experience developing and managing three-week look-ahead schedules.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage crews on multiple projects
• Manage safety meetings and training for crews
• Understand project requirements and identify risks and opportunities
• Ensure all work is performed safely and according to project requirements the first time
• Oversee mass grading, excavation, trenching, backfill, compaction, and underground utility installation
• Develop and orchestrate work from a three-week look schedule aligned with the overall project schedule
• Identify succession bench strength within your project teams while mentoring and training
• Align manpower and equipment for optimal results while creating field personnel development opportunities
• Compile daily labor hour review reports to ensure time and quantities align with the budget
• Ensure timely reporting of all accidents, incidents, rework, damage, and near misses
• Maintain customer relationships by staying engaged throughout the project
