Job summary

Total Civil Construction is seeking a Superintendent to lead field crews across multiple sites, delivering heavy civil projects with underground utilities.

You will coordinate with Project Managers and Engineers, supervise daily site operations, ensure safety, quality, and on-time performance, and communicate with clients and subcontractors.

Flexible scheduling, including overtime, nights, weekends, and varying hours, with travel to DC, MD, and VA as project needs.

Qualifications

• 7+ years hands-on experience in heavy civil construction (utilities required).
• Strong leadership and communication skills to guide crews.
• Knowledge of erosion and sediment control, construction standards, and OSHA compliance.
• Ability to interpret drawings, specs, and contract documents.
• Detail-oriented with strong time management and problem-solving skills.
• Technical proficiency withProcore, Heavy Job, and Microsoft Office.
• Valid driver’s license and personal vehicle for travel to local job sites (DC, MD, VA).

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Project Managers and Engineers to schedule and organize work.
• Supervise daily site operations to ensure safety, budget, and timelines.
• Coordinate with clients, general contractors, subcontractors, and vendors.
• Identify and resolve field issues proactively, adapting to project needs in real time.
• Enforce quality control procedures and safety regulations.
• Represent Total Civil Construction in client and strategy meetings.
• Track documentation, generate field reports, and support billing coordination.
