Job summary

Cody Vermette Group, Inc. seeks a General Superintendent to lead field operations from project start to finish. This senior role emphasizes safety, policy compliance, and strong leadership across multiple projects in a fast-paced commercial environment.

The candidate will oversee field teams, coordinate with preconstruction, project management, and safety, and monitor budgets and productivity to ensure on-time delivery and quality outcomes. This position is based on-site in California.

Qualifications

• Ten (10) years of experience as a Superintendent or in a progressively responsible commercial construction leadership role.
• Experience with tenant improvements, ground-up, building renovations, life science and similar project types.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and commercial construction safety practices.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and develop large field teams including multiple Superintendents.
• Extensive knowledge of construction practices and interpreting drawings.
• Knowledge of Building Management Systems: security, fire, mechanical, electrical and data systems.
• Experience managing multiple concurrent projects including scheduling and resource allocation.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Bluebeam, and MS Project.
• Current OSHA 30 certification required.
• Willingness to work nights and weekends as needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide field leadership and operational oversight across projects.
• Manage day-to-day field construction operations and visit jobsites regularly.
• Chair monthly field team meetings.
• Oversee warehouse operations to meet labor, materials, and supplies needs safely.
• Attend preconstruction, OAC, and project management meetings; review plans and contracts with Superintendents.
• Review costs, budgets, and productivity metrics to support objectives.
• Lead field teams and manage subcontractor performance for quality and safety.
• Maintain records and certifications.
