Job summary

Clark Construction Group's Atkinson Construction division seeks an experienced Superintendent to oversee field operations on heavy civil projects. You will ensure work complies with contract documents and schedule, enforce safety and quality programs, and supervise subcontractors on active job sites.

The role requires strong leadership, 6+ years on large-scale projects, and the ability to manage complex field operations with a focus on cost efficiency.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience with a large-scale heavy civil contractor or equivalent industry experience preferred.
• In-depth knowledge of the construction process, including scheduling, contract administration, equipment, and manpower.
• Demonstrated ability to lead field operations.

Responsibilities

• Champion safety culture through regular inspections and compliance with standards.
• Supervise timely and cost-effective installation of contracted work.
• Provide on-the-job training for Assistant Superintendents and engineers.
• Encourage staff training and development.
• Develop project sequences, schedules, and plans to meet contract requirements.
• Know owner contracts, subcontracts, and purchase orders.
• Track critical path material and equipment delivery dates.
• Monitor submittal schedules and update project schedule monthly.
• Control field costs and supervise field workforce for cost efficiency.
• Schedule and monitor field productivity and ensure equipment knowledge.
