Job summary

Clark Construction Group seeks an Assistant Superintendent to coordinate field operations and ensure work proceeds according to the project schedule while enforcing safety and quality standards on site.

You will supervise field crews, coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers, monitor milestones and material deliveries, and optimize resource use while maintaining budget discipline and Clark’s safety policies.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in engineering, architecture, construction management or related discipline preferred but not required.
• 3–6+ years of experience on construction projects in a field role.
• Heavy civil construction experience with emphasis on self-perform work and concrete preferred.
• Ability to direct work of subcontractors and suppliers.
• Knowledge of scheduling, contract administration, equipment, manpower, etc.
• Safety knowledge aligned with OSHA standards and effective site implementation.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate installation of work per contract documents, schedule and planned sequence.
• Be aware of milestone dates and requirements to achieve them.
• Understand contract documents and scope for assigned areas/trades.
• Develop understanding of duration of activities and equipment utilization.
• Know material/equipment delivery dates affecting areas/trades.
• Oversee field workforce to ensure cost-effective on-site work.
• Maintain budget awareness and manage costs relative to plan.
