Job summary

Barriere Construction, a CRH Company, is seeking a Superintendent to manage field operations on mid- to large-size heavy civil projects in Louisiana. You will coordinate crews, equipment, and subcontractors while ensuring safety, quality, and schedule adherence.

You will report to the Operations Manager and help develop Foremen into future Superintendents, maintaining strong client and internal communications on progress and issues.

Qualifications

• 7–12+ years of heavy civil construction experience.
• 3–5 years in a Superintendent/General Foreman or equivalent leadership role.
• Proven experience managing field operations on projects valued from $500k to $20M+.
• Experience with highway/road, earthwork, utilities, bridges, concrete structures and DOT/public infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Participate in toolbox talks, TAR meetings, and safety programs; ensure Foremen follow safety plans.
• Oversee hiring, staffing, and training for non-exempt field positions; provide weekly updates at Group staff meetings.
• Work with Equipment/Logistics daily to resource jobs properly.
• Assist Estimator/Project Manager in pre-bid planning and pre-construction scheduling.
• Assist Foremen in preparing progress schedules; visit job sites for quality and safety reviews.
• Assign personnel to projects; communicate expectations, goals, and management aspects.
• Attend weekly operations meetings and ensure schedules are met.
• Understand quality specs, contract terms, and project plans; ensure compliance.
• Develop Foremen and Superintendents; maintain industry relationships.
