Job summary

Barriere Construction, a CRH Company, seeks a seasoned Superintendent for LaPlace, LA to oversee field operations, safety programs, and project scheduling on mid- to large-scale construction and paving projects. You will coordinate crews, subcontractors, and equipment, ensuring adherence to plans and timelines.

The ideal candidate has 7–12+ years in heavy civil construction, with 3–5 years in leadership roles, and a track record of managing projects up to $20M.

Qualifications

• 7–12+ years of heavy civil construction experience.
• 3–5 years in a Superintendent or equivalent leadership role.
• Proven experience managing field operations on heavy civil projects valued from $500k to $20M+.
• Experience with highway/roadway construction, earthwork, and underground utilities.
• Experience with bridges, concrete structures, and industrial site developments.
• High School Diploma or GED; ARTBA Safety Certification; leadership training per company requirements.

Responsibilities

• Participate in weekly toolbox talks, TAR meetings, and safety programs; ensure Foremen follow safety plans.
• Oversee hiring, staffing, and training for non-exempt field positions, with weekly updates to Group staff meetings.
• Coordinate with Equipment/Logistics and Estimator/PM on pre-bid and pre-construction planning.
• Assist Foremen in preparing progress schedules and site visits for quality and safety reviews.
• Assign personnel to projects and communicate expectations, goals, and management aspects.
