Role Description

The Senior Field Service Electrical Engineer (LNG Experience) is a full-time, on-site role based in New Orleans, LA. This role is responsible for commissioning, troubleshooting, and maintaining ABB motors, drives, and associated electrical systems at LNG and other industrial facilities. Daily activities include performing field diagnostics, electrical testing, and root cause analysis, as well as implementing corrective actions to ensure safe, reliable operation of equipment. The engineer collaborates closely with customer operations and maintenance teams, prepares technical reports, and provides guidance on best practices and equipment optimization. The role also involves supporting upgrades and modernization projects, delivering on-site technical training, and ensuring compliance with relevant safety standards and procedures.

Qualifications

• Strong electrical engineering foundation with experience in power systems, industrial motors, and variable frequency drives, ideally in LNG or similar process industries.
• Proficiency in field service activities such as commissioning, start-up, testing, troubleshooting, and maintenance of electrical equipment and control systems.
• Knowledge of relevant standards and safety practices (e.g., NEC, IEEE, NFPA, arc flash, lockout/tagout) and ability to work safely in industrial and LNG environments.
• Ability to interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and technical documentation, and to prepare clear service reports and recommendations.
• Strong customer-facing skills, including communication, problem-solving, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional and site-based teams.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field; advanced technical certifications or professional licensure (e.g., PE) are beneficial.
• Previous experience in field service roles, with willingness to travel to customer sites and work in varying industrial conditions as needed.
• Familiarity with digital monitoring tools, asset management systems, and data-driven approaches to equipment reliability is an advantage.
