Job summary

CareerNerds is seeking an experienced field technician to test and maintain LV, MV, and HV switchgear across Tennessee and the Southeast. You will perform NETA acceptance tests, document results, and commission new equipment while supporting outages and emergencies.

The role requires traveling up to 50%, a valid driver's license, and a strong safety record. You will lead and mentor junior technicians on site, with a company truck and full benefits package included.

Qualifications

• NETA Level II/III/IV certification is required.
• 2–5+ years of field testing experience.
• Strong safety habits: LOTO, arc flash, NFPA 70E tips.
• Willingness to travel up to 50%.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record.

This field role is for an experienced tech testing and maintaining electrical power systems for customers across Tennessee and the Southeast.

What you'll do

• Test, inspect and troubleshoot LV, MV and HV switchgear, breakers, transformers, relays and cable.
• Perform NETA acceptance and maintenance testing, and document the results.
• Commission new equipment, and support outages and emergency calls.
• Lead and mentor Level I/II techs on site.

What you bring

• NETA Level II, III or IV certification.
• 2–5+ years of field testing experience.
• Solid safety habits: LOTO, arc flash and NFPA 70E.
• Willingness to travel up to 50%.

Pay & benefits:

$40–$70/hr plus overtime and per diem. Company truck, full benefits and 401(k) match.
