Job summary

GEA Group is seeking a Field Service Technician III to join our Central Region Service Team. The role involves routine maintenance, warranty work, and minor repairs on industrial refrigeration equipment, with on-site customer interactions and extensive travel.

Candidates should have substantial refrigeration experience and strong electrical/control skills. The position requires 7–10 years in the field, RI/ANSI certifications, and the ability to read P&IDs and schematics.

Qualifications

• 7–10 years of industrial refrigeration experience required.
• Ability to read P&IDs and electrical schematics.
• Thorough knowledge of the refrigeration cycle and major components.
• Advanced knowledge of screw and piston type compressors and their packages.
• Advanced working knowledge of electrical systems and control schemes.
• EPA 608 certification preferred; ANSI/IIAR-6 certs required or obtainable within 1 year.
• Ability to travel 90% of the time.

Responsibilities

• Respond to customer requests and field dispatches.
• Meet with customers on site to discuss service or repair needs.
• Provide advanced technical support and troubleshooting for compressor packages.
• Troubleshoot electrical & control systems and refrigeration systems.
• Retrofit industrial control panels across multiple manufacturers.
• Perform maintenance and repairs per ANSI/IIAR-6 2019, where applicable.
• Inspect machinery and offer preventative improvement suggestions.
• Document work with time sheets, service tickets and reports.
• Provide after-hours troubleshooting and train customers on equipment operation.
