Job summary

RMS Energy Co, LLC seeks Field Service Technicians to test, maintain, and commission high- to extra-high voltage systems at industrial sites across the United States.

This hands-on role requires data collection, strong safety discipline, and the ability to read schematics and one-line diagrams. You will mentor junior technicians and uphold site safety standards in diverse environments.

Qualifications

  • 3–5 years field experience testing, maintaining, and commissioning power systems up to 500kV.
  • Experience with megohmmeters, TTRs, insulation testers
  • Familiarity with PowerDB or similar test documentation software
  • Strong understanding of NFPA 70E, OSHA 1910.269, and field safety standards
  • Able to read and interpret schematics and one‑line diagrams
  • NETA Level II certification preferred or active pursuit of certification
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams)
  • Organized, safety‑conscious, and able to manage time and priorities independently

Responsibilities

  • Test, maintain, and collect data on low to high voltage systems (480V–600kV).
  • Run field tests including TTR, insulation resistance, Power Factor, Tan Delta, VLF, DC Hi-Pot.
  • Test relays (electromechanical and solid-state) with minimal supervision.
  • Troubleshoot control circuits, relay logic, and protection schemes.
  • Support commissioning activities and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Read schematics and one-line diagrams; document results.
  • Communicate with customers on-site and provide job updates.
  • Follow RMS Energy safety procedures (Lockout/Tagout, PPE, JHA).
