Job summary

Kodiak Gas Services is seeking a senior field technician for Midland, TX. The role focuses on operating compressor packages, gas processes, and rentals with advanced diagnostics and mentorship responsibilities.

You will troubleshoot major equipment, support HSE practices, maintain equipment readiness, and collaborate with the Area Manager on planning and parts supply. On-site, long shifts and on-call rotations are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Preferred OEM, Trade School and/or 5+ years related field/industry experience.
• Completion of Kodiak’s SSE program; minimum 3 years in an intermediate Field Technician role.
• Deep knowledge in gas processes, compressor packages and systems (Waukesha, Ariel, Caterpillar).
• 5+ years compression, production and equipment-related experience.
• Advanced Electrical Troubleshooting skills.
• Strong teamwork, communication, analytical, problem solving and customer focus.
• Expert knowledge of compressor packages and all components/systems.
• Advanced knowledge of HSE procedures and regulations.
• Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Valid Driver’s License with acceptable MVR.
• CAT, Waukesha, Ariel certifications preferred.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.

Responsibilities

• Directs, coordinates, and performs activities aligned with Kodiak goals and objectives; mentors others in the area.
• Troubleshoot complex repairs and major equipment overhauls and operation.
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical issues.
• Engage in HSE activities; serve as an expert and role model for safety.
• Build and maintain customer relationships.
• Ensure 98%+ mechanical availability of equipment and take corrective actions.
• Contribute to area budgeting and planning with Area Manager.
• Communicate parts needs to Supply Chain for inventory.
• Maintain units in clean, presentable condition.
• Provide 24/7 coverage, including on-call rotations.
