Job summary

Kodiak Gas Services LLC in Carlsbad, NM seeks a fully proficient and senior field technician to lead one or more operational compression jobs, mentor area staff, and ensure high mechanical availability. You will troubleshoot complex repairs, tackle electrical issues, and provide input for budgeting and scheduling, while supporting 24/7 coverage.

Must have a high school diploma, SSE completion, 3+ years in an intermediate field role, and deep knowledge of gas processes and compressors.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• 5+ years related experience in compression/related field/industry.
• Successful completion of Kodiak’s SSE program, plus a minimum of 3 years in an intermediate level Field Technician role.
• Deep knowledge in gas processes and compressor packages (including components and systems).
• Advanced electrical troubleshooting skills.
• Valid Driver’s License with MVR within acceptable parameters.

Responsibilities

• Directs, coordinates, and performs job activities consistent with Kodiak’s procedures.
• Acts as informal mentor and leader in the area.
• Participates in all HSE activities with expert knowledge of procedures and policies.
• Safety expert and role model for the team.
• Troubleshoot complex repairs and major equipment overhauls and operation.
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical issues.
• Maintain customer relationships and communicate needs to Area Manager.
• Provide input for area budget and planning with Area Manager.
• Ensure 98%+ mechanical availability and proper unit condition.
• Provide guidance to Field Service Technicians and support scheduling.
