Job summary

Herc Rentals is seeking a Field Service Mechanic A in Baton Rouge. You will lead fleet maintenance and repairs at customer sites, utilizing diagnostic tools and electrical/hydraulic expertise to keep equipment ready for rental.

The role requires on-site work, safety adherence, and strong documentation of service logs. Responsibilities include mentoring junior technicians, coordinating field staff, and maintaining PM schedules while communicating with customers to ensure quality service and

Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent.
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
Ownership of sufficient selection of hand and air/electric tools.
Ability to drive/operate multiple types of vehicles and equipment.
Ability to safely lift up to 50 lbs.
Demonstrated mastery of all Field Service Mechanic B and C-level tasks.
Comprehensive knowledge of electrical, hydraulic, propane, and fuel systems.
Proficiency with computerized diagnostic tools and fleet management systems.

Responsibilities

Lead fleet maintenance and repairs at customer job sites.
Maintain PM schedules for fleet and test equipment onsite.
Produce detailed service reports and repair logs.
Follow field procedures, safety requirements, and company policies.
Assist in mentoring Field Service Mechanic B/C techs and coordinate field staff.
Enter and review work orders and parts via fleet management system.
