Job summary

Herc Rentals is seeking a Field Service Mechanic A to lead in maintaining our fleet at customer job sites. You will operate independently, perform preventative maintenance, and repair heavy equipment to ensure reliable service on our customers' sites.

You will diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulics, and fuel systems, communicate clearly with customers, and document service activities to support continuous improvement and safety on the job.

Qualifications

• Highschool diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to operate and test equipment such as boom lifts, forklifts, compressors, generators, hydraulics, pumps.
• Ownership of hand and power tools for repairs and service.
• Ability to read technical schematics and manuals.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a schedule for preventative maintenance at long term customer job sites.
• Oversee oil changes, lubrication, tire replacements, and hose repairs.
• Diagnose and repair heavy equipment to ensure proper operating condition on site.
• Troubleshoot fuel, electrical, hydraulic, and propane systems.
• Educate customers on proper equipment use to prevent future breakdowns.
• Produce detailed service reports and logs.
