Job summary

Fairbanks Morse, LLC in Houston, TX seeks a Senior Service Supervisor to lead field technicians on complex diesel projects, ensuring safety, quality, and on-time delivery. You’ll plan workloads, coordinate with project and quality teams, and mentor staff to achieve superior customer service.

Able to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced field environment with up to 25% travel. Strong leadership, communication, and ERP/Microsoft Office skills are required.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in a diesel engine technology program or equivalent experience; bachelor’s preferred.
• Supervision and project management coursework completed.
• At least 6 years of industry or 6 years of military experience with medium-speed diesel engines.
• Prefer 4+ years FM Field Service Technician experience.
• Prefer 3+ years supervisory experience in a service environment.
• Foundation in pneumatic, PLC, and electronic engine controls.
• Familiarity with FM engine products.
• Willingness to travel up to 25%.
• Strong communication and leadership abilities; capable of guiding field technicians.

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct, and manage the work performed by technical representatives to optimize labor capacity, meet customer schedules, and ensure high-quality workmanship and satisfaction.
• Coordinate with the Project Manager on larger-scale projects.
• Coordinate with the Quality Manager on PCPs and T&I documentation.
• Review daily service reports and feedback from technical representatives.
• Schedule and dispatch technicians while balancing demand with time-off needs.
• Review timecards and expense reports for all technical staff.
• Assess workforce capabilities and implement an annual training plan.
• Mentor and coach staff to deliver superior customer service.
• Assist with staffing decisions, recruiting, and performance evaluations.
• Promote safety and maintain standard work records; support quoting service jobs.
