Job summary

Fairbanks Morse Defense is seeking a Senior Service Supervisor in Houston, TX to lead Field Service Technicians, coordinate with project management, and ensure high-quality, timely service in the field. The role requires strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills, with up to 25% travel.

The position emphasizes workforce development, safety compliance, and collaboration with military customers, project teams, and senior leadership.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in diesel engine technology or equivalent experience.
• Course work in Fundamentals of Supervision and Project Management.
• Minimum 6 years industry or military experience on medium speed diesel engines.
• Prefer 4 years FM Field Service Tech experience.
• Prefer 3 years supervisory experience in service environment.
• Knowledge of pneumatic, PLC, and electronic engine controls.
• Familiarity with FM engine products.
• Strong communication, problem solving, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Self-starter with minimal supervision.
• Proficiency with MS Word/Excel/Project; ERP experience (Oracle, Salesforce) preferred.
• Travel up to 25%.
• US Citizenship NOFORN consideration.

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct, and manage the work performed by technical representatives to optimize labor capacity and customer satisfaction.
• Coordinate with the Project Manager on larger-scale projects.
• Coordinate with Quality Manager on PCPs and T&I documentation.
• Review and approve timecards and expense reports for technical representatives.
• Schedule and dispatch technicians while balancing demand and time off; maintain center-wide visibility of assignments.
• Conduct performance assessments and recommend merit increases or promotions.
• Develop annual training plans and mentor the workforce to improve service quality.
• Participate in recruiting and hiring decisions to ensure manpower.
• Promote a safe working environment and address safety concerns.
• Contribute to quoting service jobs.
