Job summary
Cooper Machinery Services is seeking a Field Service Representative to provide hands-on technical and operations support for reciprocating compression equipment at customer facilities. You will lead on-site installations, maintenance, testing, and troubleshooting, act as SME, and travel extensively to service sites while maintaining strong customer relationships. The role demands leadership, safety, and excellent communication.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Associates degree with technical concentration or equivalent experience preferred.
Formal technical training and oil & gas industry exposure strongly desired.
Completion of Reciprocating Compression Systems product training is preferred.
10–15 years experience in Reciprocating Compression; FS Mechanic levels I–IV and Crew Chief eligibility.
Responsibilities
Undertake customer support tasks, perform on-site installations, repairs, maintenance and tests, ensuring work progresses on schedule.
Serve as SME for Field Services support across workshops, compressor stations and process plants.
Provide on-site technical support and complete customer support tasks; deliver, install, repair, maintain and test equipment.
Resolve operational issues in the field and perform troubleshooting as needed.
Identify customer needs and offer practical recommendations; collaborate with colleagues to ensure top-notch support.
Manage work progress and ensure adherence to schedules; track and document progress and write service reports.
Maintain compliance with all company policies and regulations; develop strong customer relationships.
Travel 200–300 days per year, often for 2–14 weeks at a time; work 60–84 hours weekly including weekends/holidays.
Ascend/descend ladders, work in confined spaces and outdoor conditions; lift 40–50 lb boxes and share vehicles at sites.
